Immediately after completing his MCh, he went for overseas training in Hepato-biliary and pancreatic surgery at Queen Mary Hospital, Hong Kong. Honorary Fellow of Minimal Access Surgeons of India (FMAS), Dr Deepak also underwent special training in Liver Surgery and completed his fellowship in HPB Surgery and Liver Transplantation from Beaujon Hospital, Paris. In 2007, he underwent training in advanced laparoscopic colorectal surgery at Kyung Pook National University, South Korea. With a special interest in minimal access robotic surgeries, he also underwent special training in robotic surgery with Da Vinci X in Tampa, Miami, and Atlanta in the USA.
